Former President Muhammadu Buhari has declared his unwavering commitment to the All Progressives Congress, APC, dispelling speculation about a possible defection from the party.
In a statement issued on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, conveyed the former president’s stance, reaffirming his dedication to the party’s growth and principles.
“I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularise the party by all means,” Buhari said in the statement, making his political allegiance clear.
The former president expressed gratitude for the support he received from the APC before and during his two-term presidency, describing it as an honour he deeply cherishes.
Buhari acknowledged the role the party played in his political journey, stating that he would never turn his back on the platform that brought him to power in 2015 and 2019.
