The Chairman of the Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, has called for the dismissal of Laide Bakare, as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Odeyemi described the outfit of Bakare, a Nollywood artiste at a recent event in Osogbo as an embarrassment to the state government.

Bakare had organised the Osun Comedy Fest, an event attended by government officials and hundreds of young people.

However, her choice of attire at the gathering has sparked controversy and widespread criticism.

The actress and government official was seen wearing a skimpy, sleeveless blue gown that exposed a significant part of her chest.

Many attendees expressed their disapproval, with the outfit becoming a major talking point at the event.

Since the event, social media platforms have been flooded with reactions condemning Bakare’s dressing.

Odeyemi stated that Bakare failed to portray herself as a responsible ambassador of the administration.

He criticised her outfit arguing that it was inappropriate for a public official and did not reflect positively on the government she represents.

He maintained that as a Senior Special Assistant, she should set a positive example for young women in Osun State.

He further argued that Bakare’s conduct at the event was unbecoming of a government representative.

He urged Governor Adeleke to take immediate action by relieving her of her position.

According to him, “The scenario became worse as she was seen gallivanting around the stage in the presence of some top government officials.

“How many of these attendees can allow their wives or children dress like that to an event? It’s an embarrassment that Mr Governor still abodes such elements in his cabinet.

“What morals are we preaching to the younger generation when a supposed ambassador is not conscious of the fact that some youngsters see her as a role model?

“Somebody that teeths waxed on her appointment still has gut to dress like that in a state known for its Omoluabi ethos, it is a shame.

“I call on Governor Adeleke to sack Laide Bakare so as to serve as deterrent to other young ladies that may be opportune to have an appointment in this cabinet. Don’t corrupt our ladies in Osun”
