The Kaduna State Police Command says it has rescued ten people who were kidnapped by bandits in Kagarko Local Government Area since May 2025.

A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the victims were abducted from their homes by bandits who attacked Kushe Makaranta village in large numbers and took them into a dense forest near the Rijana community.
He explained that the victims were rescued on October 7, five months after their abduction following a sustained pressure from a combined team of the police, Department for State Services (DSS) and military personnel who forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims and escape from their hideout.
The victims include: Helen Abraham, Rosemary Elisha, Jummai Istifanus, Hauwa’u Sule and Mary Sunday. Others are Kelvin Abraham, Devine Elisha, Jeremiah Istfanus, Christabeth Abraham and Hauwa Sulaiman all indigenes of Kushe Makaranta village.
The police said that the rescued victims upon their rescue were immediately taken to the Police Clinic for medical attention, and after two days of observation and treatment, they were successfully reunited with their families.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad has commended operatives of the command for their dedication and professionalism, assuring the public that the Command remains resolute in its efforts to ensure the safety and security of all residents and in fighting banditry in the State.
