The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has retained the country’s benchmark interest rate at 27.50 per cent for the second consecutive time in 2025.
CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, made the announcement during a press briefing on Tuesday following the 300th MPC meeting held in Abuja.
“The Committee was unanimous in its agreement to hold all parameters,” Cardoso stated, affirming the apex bank’s decision to maintain current monetary policy settings amidst ongoing economic evaluations.
