The National President of the Al-Mushahid Initiative for Transparency and Accountability (AITA), Ambassador Aminu Majidadi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis, describing his death as a monumental loss to the global Christian community and humanity at large.
In a message, on behalf of himself and the entire staff and management of AITA, Amb. Majidadi commiserated with the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican, and Christians around the world, acknowledging Pope Francis as a revered spiritual leader whose life was defined by humility, compassion, and tireless advocacy for peace and justice.
According to Amb. Majidadi, Pope Francis stood out as a moral force who consistently championed the cause of the poor, promoted interfaith dialogue, and called for integrity in leadership. He noted that the Pope’s exemplary life and teachings transcended religious boundaries, leaving behind a legacy of truth, reconciliation, and unwavering dedication to the dignity of every human being.
“Pope Francis embodied the true essence of servant leadership. His voice was one of courage and conscience in a world plagued by division and inequality. He reminded us all of our shared humanity and the need to pursue justice, peace, and compassion without compromise,” Majidadi stated.
He further called on the faithful to honour the memory of the late Pontiff by upholding the values he preached love for all, mercy to the weak, and commitment to truth. He also urged religious leaders to continue to serve as bridges of unity and hope in this challenging period.
Amb. Majidadi extended heartfelt condolences to the Vatican, the global Catholic faithful, and indeed all Christians mourning the passing of Pope Francis. He prayed for divine comfort and strength for the Church and that the soul of the departed pontiff finds eternal rest in the bosom of the Almighty.
