Preliminary investigation attributed the crash to a sign violation and dangerous driving on a paved but rough section of the road
Seven people have been killed in a road accident involving 12 people in Bauchi State. The victims were returning from Misau after attending a wedding when the crash occurred on Saturday.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Bauchi Command confirmed the incident, revealing that it occurred at Kajutu Village along the Bauchi–Maiduguri Federal Highway.
According to the FRSC, two vehicles were involved in the crash: a Galaxy Sharon minibus with registration number KRF 198 XA, operating commercially under the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and driven by Musa A. Musa, and a MAN diesel tipper truck with no registration number, which was being used for the commercial transportation of sand.

Five other occupants sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for medical treatment.
Funeral prayers for the deceased were held at Gwllaga Mosque in Bauchi and were attended by senior government officials and prominent politicians.
Man Arrested for Allegedly Beating Wife to Death
Meanwhile, in Nasarawa, police authorities have arrested a 30-year-old man, Musbawu Amodu, for allegedly beating his 20-year-old wife to death following a domestic dispute in Angwan Yahaya, Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area of the state.
Police said the incident occurred on Sunday, with a report lodged at the Agyaragu Police Division at about 12:30 p.m., alleging that the suspect had assaulted his wife, leading to her death.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Ramhan Nansel, officers were immediately deployed to the scene, while the victim was evacuated to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, for medical examination and preservation.
The suspect was arrested and allegedly confessed during interrogation, claiming he attacked his wife in anger after she reportedly refused to prepare food. Police said the disagreement escalated into a physical altercation that resulted in her death. He was also said to have expressed remorse over the incident.
The deceased leaves behind two children, a boy and a girl, from the couple’s six-year marriage.
