Wellesley Bolt, born in 1957, was the father of Olympic sprinting legend Usain Bolt. He worked at the Jamaican Coffee Board for 16 years before running a grocery shop in Sherwood Content, Trelawny, with his wife Jennifer.

Together, they raised three children: Usain, Sadiki, and Christine. Wellesley played a pivotal role in nurturing Usain’s athletic talents, steering him from cricket to sprinting and supporting him throughout his career.

Known for his humility, he was often seen cheering Usain on at major competitions, including the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2018, Wellesley embraced Christianity, fulfilling a long-held wish of his wife.

He passed away on, at the age of 68, after a prolonged illness, in a medical facility in Kingston, Jamaica.
